Blackened Steel Guardrail

Amuneal Manufacturing Corp was hired to Design Engineer and fabricate a large blackened steel guardrail with illuminated handrail for an office renovation in the Metlife Building in NYC. The guardrail is 1/2” thick, stretcher grade hot rolled steel, with welded top cap and reveals. It bolts to brackets that have been welded to the bottom of the structural steel by others. As the design engineer of this project, I assisted with the site survey and templating of the site, helped coordinate fabrication on the shop floor, and supervised portions of the installation on site.
