Brass & Mahogany Telescope

(2016)

This handmade brass & mahogany telescope can be disassembled and reassembled on site because of its “truss” structure. It is a reflector type telescope, with large concave primary mirror in the base, which reflects through an angled secondary mirror and into the focuser & eyepiece at the top. Its optics are held in relation to one another with brass rails and solid wood tiers.

6'' f/6, dobsonian telescope. "Dobsonian" is a type of reflector telescope, and the term "Truss" is used to describe the use of rails to hold optical elements in relation to one another.
